A Brief Introduction to Music

There have been various statements about the origin of music. In Greek mythology, music is the creation by one of the Muses, who always appears in the gods and heroes’ party, with her charming singing voice around the sky that delight the atmosphere. And the great biologist Darwin regarded that music was the production of courting a female. In his theory, music derived from the mimicry of the animal sounds when primitive tribe inhabitants expressed their love feelings since they found the sounds of animals beautiful melodies. Others hold the view that music came into being in the development of primitive totem culture and witchcraft etiquette.

Wherever music stems from, it has now become a popular culture in our routine life. There are many styles of music: Pop, rock, R&B, Rap, Jazz, Soul, Soft and Funk and other multifarious styles that only prevail in a small community. What I love most is the Soul, the Soul is a woman-singing blues tune virtually derived from the Jazz, but the instruments have been changed from the Jazz for the more electronic music. And my ring tone was once a piece of Soul which always made me at ease as if I was in the countryside where the wildflowers were booming.

Why has the music become an indispensable part in our society? The great German musician Beethoven ever said, music was a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy. From this perspective, music acts as the role to influence, shape and save those who are suffering from tough difficulties.

When we are in high spirit, a piece of pleasant music can even cheer us up more and when in gloom, a soft melody is a more efficient cure of the hurting heart. Of course, as I have mentioned above, it’s a pretty nice idea to use music to convey your love feelings. A piece of The Butterfly Lovers accompanied with a bunch of roses is more likely to touch a girl who is in romantic imagination.

Music is the power. Music is the magic.
