Where Has the Time Gone?

“Where has the time gone?”, each time most people hear the rhythm, it does really arouse their deep thoughts on time, undoubtedly including me.

As is universally acknowledged, time is a precious resource which can not be replaced by anything. Time is to people what sunshine is to flowers. However, time flies like an arrow before we realize it. Therefore, the one who would like to be the winner should have a good command of time .That is to be the master of time rather than slaves to it.

Take Madame Curie for example. She was known as a successful female scientist who had already received two kinds of Nobel Prize. The trick to her success was that she attached great significance to time and allocated her time well. Usually before Curie did something, she would make a plan and divide everything into several small pieces in order to make full use of every single minute. What’s more, Curie combined her bedroom and laboratory so as to save time. Curie set a good example to us on how to be the master of the time. Not only Curie but also other celebrities have a common sense that time outweighs any wealth, or accurately speaking, time is the tool of which they make good use to create whatever they want, such as success, reputation, prestige, power... which are far more valuable than money.

Nevertheless, even though there are lots of encouraging examples surrounding us, we may still find it difficult to be the masters of the time but easy to be the slaves, especially for us college students. Complaining about the shortness of the time, we put off what we can do today to tomorrow. Or worse still, we complete our task arbitrarily and spend our time aimlessly. When we are doing all these meaningless things, time has unwittingly flown away, and it’s not until then that we become aware that we have done nothing but waste time. Consequently we can’t help asking “Where has the time gone?”.

Where has the time gone? It passes by when we ignore it, waste it, as well as kill it. In addition, as the old proverb says: wasting time is actually equal to a chronic suicide. So why don’t we choose to be a time-conscious person and cherish every minute to make our lives more fulfilling and meaningful.
